Top Ten Tuesday: 8/21/12 Edition

Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
Top Ten Books I've Read During the Lifespan of My Blog*
*Wherein only one book by each author can be included, and I do not count rereads. Stipulations I needed to actually narrow this list down to 10.
01. Stolen by Lucy Christopher
02. Something Like Normal by Trish Doller
03. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
04. Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
05. The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James
06. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
07. Within Reach by Sarah Mayberry
08. Unraveled by Courtney Milan
09. Divergent by Veronica Roth
10. Head Over Heels by Jill Shalvis

They are listed in order by author's last name, and the link leads to my review if it's been published (if not, then it links to Goodreads). Thank goodness I've only been blogging since late last December, is all I have to say! I have no idea how people with blogs that are 2+ years old could possibly manage this.

  1. Holy moly, I've only read ONE book on your list (Divergent). This situation must be remedied - especially since some of the others sound brilliant!

  2. I felt the same about bloggers who've been blogging a lot longer, I'd never be able to narrow down my choices! Luckily I only started book blogging in February, so I didn't have TOO many to pick from... I haven't read any of these, but I've heard a lot of good things recently about Something Like Normal, so hopefully I'll get around to reading it at some point!

  4. You really should! You like historical romance, don't you?  The Ugly Duchess was one of the best historical romances I've read in a long time!  Outlander, too, but it's obviously way more complicated/huge/epic, and is not your run-of-the-mill historical.

  5. I know!  I mean, I only started back in late December, and I've read over 100 books so far this year.  So it was a challenge.  But I know that's nothing compared to what some people had to sort through.

Something Like Normal was a good one!  I'd definitely recommend it.

  6. Ahhh! I really need to read Stolen and to order a copy of Something Like Normal!

    Love this list :-)

  8. Yes!  I loved both of those so much!  I had superhigh expectations for Something Like Normal, and it absolutely met them.  And it was fully narrated by the guy, which I wasn't expecting.  I normally wouldn't care for it because I don't always find male voices written by female authors very authentic, but Doller did an amazing job with it.

I had no idea what to expect from Stolen, but I LOVED it.  It was thoroughly emotionally wrenching but absolutely worth the experience.  I could not tear myself away while I was reading it.  I was reading it before class one time and was so enthralled that I did not realize that my professor had actually started class, LOL.  Thankfully, my bestie had my back and alerted me to said fact.

Psst! I now reside over at The Book Barbies. I'd still love to hear your thoughts, though!
